ITANAGAR, May 31:The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU)in its strongest term condemned the recent rally organised by the Patkai Autonomous District Council (PADC) committee and has questioned the ‘genuineness and integrity’ of the demand.
While conceding that the demand for Patkai Autonomous District Council (PADC) is within the framework of the Constitution of India, the Union however asserted that the issue has been misguided and is creating division in the minds of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
The eastern districts especially Longding, Tirap and Changlang is declared disturbed area by government of India because of the insurgency however the flow of funds has not been discriminated to the
districts, in fact more funds has been given under the Department ofTirap Changlang and Longding (DoTCL), Border Area Development Plan(BADP) other funds has been allotted to the districts, the AAPSU said.
‘The people or organisation should focus for awareness on the implementation of the funds in these districts, as the common people have been kept in the
dark since many years and the developmental activities has taken aslow pace,’ said President Hawa Bagang in a press statement.
Terming the political instigation by few selfish motivated individuals and has no public support in clear sense, Bagang said that the union will not tolerate any international or any other elements who try to degrade the integrity of the people and its land.
The Article 371 (A) is a special status to the state of Nagaland andwe respect their culture and unique identity and we seek morecordial relationship with their people but not at the cost of theintegrity of indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh, the AAPSU said while seeking an unconditional
public apology from PADC committee for misguiding the people.
