Board postpones CGLE 2021; ANYA demands apology, re-examination

ITANAGAR, Aug  5: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) on Thursday said that the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) should not declare the results of the UDC examination unless it clarifies the reason behind the use of the term ‘Hills Miri’  instead of ‘Nyishi’ as an option in one  of the multiple choice questions in the recently held “Combined Graduate Level Examination 2021”.
Speaking to reporters, ANYA president Byabang Joram said that the union today visited the Chief Secretary's office, however could not meet him as the CS was out of station. The union met with the In-charge CS. However, there will be another meeting with the regular CS, when he is back to the office, he said. 
On August 3rd, the union also visited the APSSB office and sought a clarification. Accordingly, the APSSB Chairman had written a letter to the CS to find out an amicable solution to the issue.
The union had demanded that APSSB should apologise and re-conduct the exam.
Joram specifically said that the union has no intention to hurt the sentiments of students who appeared for the examination by demanding re-examination.
“I would also appeal to the candidates  to understand the sentiments of the Nyishi community. We hope for an amicable solution brought by the board and that no one is hurt,” he added.
He also informed that the board will initiate an enquiry into the entire episode and bring out a permanent solution. 
Meanwhile, in an order issued today by the APSSB, it informed that the skill test for the CGL examination 2021, which was supposed to be held on August 8 next at Itanagar is postponed till further notice.
