Itanagar, Feb 11: The First National Lok Adalat of the year was conducted by Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) under the aegis of NALSA today in various courts of the state organised by District Legal Services Authorities.
Every year National Lok Adalat is conducted in a single day in numerous courts of Arunachal Pradesh along with rest of the nation. It is a forum where disputes and cases that are pending in a court or are at pre-litigation stage are compromised or settled in an amicable manner. It is speedy and cost effective which can give immense relief to the parties (the litigants), where long pending cases are settled in a speedy manner to lessen the burden of the courts.
The Lok Adalat were held at the District & Session Court(D&SC) of Bomdila, Khonsa, Ziro, Tezu, Yupia, Aalo, Additional District & Session Court (ADSC) of Basar, Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Daporijo, Roing, Changlang, Pasighat, Ziro, Bomdila, Aalo, Seppa and Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) of Longding, Khonsa, Palin, Yupia, Hawai, Namsai, Koloriang, Pangin, Anini. Total of 24 Benches.
Over 170 Cases were disposed out of 901 taken up listed cases and amount of 1,04,29,638 (Rupess One Crore Four Lakhs Twenty Nine Thousand Six Hundred Thirty Eight) was the total settlement amount.
The next National Lok Adalat will be organised on May 13 next.
