ITANAGAR, May 19: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission Women (APSCW), Itanagar organized a one day state level seminar on women’s health at Zomthang Hall, Tawang. The programme was sponsored by National Commission for Women (NCW), New Delhi.
The Chairperson APSCW, Kenjum Pakam highlighted the objective of the programme and complemented the people of Tawang for being a peaceful district. She stated that from many decades Tawang has not yet registered any domestic violence and other related cases. Taking the opportunity, she also emphasized the women of Tawang to take the benefit of the seminar and make one self be aware of health-related issues. During the programme, the Chairperson felicitated the Trainees of Skill Development on cake baking with certificate. As resource person Dr. Tenzing Kungma highlighted and stressed on various women health issues faced by women such as cervical cancer, breast cancer and Maternal Health Issues. Resource person Dr. Tashi Sangmo briefed on depression and anxiety.
The programme was attended by DC Tawang Kesang Ngurup Damo as Chief Guest and ZPC Leki Gombu as special guest. The programme was participated by all the HoDs of Tawang District, various NGOs, stakeholders, students, GBs and especially the Women Welfare Society of Tawang.
