ITANAGAR, May 5: The 6th Body Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), Itanagar, Chairperson Kenjum Pakam on her maiden visit to National Commission for Women (NCW), New Delhi met with the Chairperson, NCW today.
 They discussed on various issues relating to women and children. Chairperson Pakam discussed how women are victimized because of polygamy that leads to domestic violence. She emphasized on teaching and learning of sexual harassment in schools and colleges. They discussed on measures to prevent gender inequality in society by imparting awareness through special curriculum to girl child on menstrual hygiene, safety measures, crime against women to the children at grass root level.
While supporting the issues raised, the Chairperson, NCW assured to visit Arunachal Pradesh and try to implement rule to include an awareness class for school students once a month and teach them POCSO Act 2012 and other relevant laws.
