ITANAGAR, Mar 23: The Galo Welfare Society (GWS) has served seven days ultimatum to the state government to disclose the entire investigation report of the alleged murder case of late Tumi Gangkak,  Under Secretary APPSC,   failing which it has threatened to launch  democratic movement.
Addressing the media at the press club here today, General Secretary GWS Nyadar Loya said that on the advice of the society, the Kargu Kardi Welfare Society (KKWS) has already submitted a memorandum to the state government demanding the same. Besides the disclosure of the investigation report in public, other demands included immediate arrest/suspension of SIC  officer Bomchu Krong and adequate compensation to the deceased family. The memorandum was submitted on March 13 last, he added.
Expressing resentment over the investigation process, Loya said that despite the passage of month's time, the investigation is yet to see any results. Therefore, the GWS demands especially the fact-finding committee report headed by DySP Kengo Dirchi to be made public, he said.
He also alleged that the state government is giving less importance to the case, hence they appealed to the Home Department to furnish the outcomes of the investigation to date through the media so that the investigation details of the department can be compared with the facts obtained by the committee formed by GWS in regards to the matter.
“The GWS has constituted a committee to investigate the mysterious death of Gangkak on  our personal level. It was necessary because of the lack of interest shown by the state police department in the matter,” Loya said, adding that ample amount of time has been given to the police.
The deceased family also met with Home Minister Bamang Felix earlier and apprised their demands. Subsequently, the minister assured to take up the matter for discussion with the Chief Minister. But, despite the passage of two weeks, the family is yet to receive any response, informed Loya.
“If the state government discloses the investigation report with us or to the public through media, we will compare our facts and information with their report. If it is ok, or there is still need for work by the police, we will apprise the areas for indepth investigation so as to bring proper conclusion of the matter,” he said.
