ITANAGAR, Mar 10 : The Gangkak family has urged the authorities to arrest the police official who they say is the prime suspect in the murder of Under Secretary, APPSC  late Tumi Gangkak, while addressing a press conference at the press club on Friday.
Narrating the last hours of her husband, wife Tomi Gangkak, said that SIC officer Bomcho Krong had called and asked her husband to visit the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office within half an hour. That day was our daughter's birthday and we were about to celebrate it together on February 23 last. But after a few hours, when he didn’t return home, we contacted Inspector Krong to look out for my husband but the officer claimed that he(Gangkak) had not turned up.
"My husband didn’t return and was found dead in a mysterious condition. So, I have a strong feeling that Krong has some connection to the murder," she said.
While casting doubt on the whole episode, Dejar Poyom, a family member claimed that late Gangkak was getting life threats. Who will benefit from the death of Gangkak as he was the prime witness of CBI and SIC for the whole APPSC scam?  Whether it is the paper ‘chors’ or officers from the Commission involved in the scam, or the candidates, that needs to be investigated properly, he stated.
Poyom also sought call record details of late Gangkak and claimed that  Inspector Krong  had sent a message stating 'I am murderer now’ to someone on 24th February at 10:51 pm which also needs to be investigated.
Further, the family also refused to accept the post-mortem report claiming that the reason behind the death is not specific and that a copy of the report has not been handed to the family yet. "Very surprisingly, even the state government didn’t send any condolences on the death of one of its officers," Poyom said.
The family has demanded immediate arrest of the police official, detail CCTV footage of the intervening night to ascertain who drove the car of the deceased, and a proper post-mortem report.
