ITANAGAR, Jan 9: The Adi Students' Union (AdiSU Apex) has sought an indepth investigation into the infamous cash-for-job scam in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) so that no 'wrong doer goes unpunished'.
In a three-point representation to the chief minister, the union while appreciating the investigative agencies, however questioned the outcome of the probe despite passage of four months. "About 46 people have been arrested comprising mostly beneficiaries or buyers along with few brokers so far. However, only one person namely Taket Jerang has been arrested from the APPSC. It is hard to imagine that a scam of such magnitude can be committed by a single person with such finesse and perfection," the AdiSU said.
The Union further urged for proper investigation of all officials --high ranking to low, serving in the commission including assessment of immovable and movable property. It also said that the narco analysis test of accused Taket Jerang must be videographed and the report made public to ensure that the investigation is being carried out in a free and fair manner.
