PALIN, Jun 25: The Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society, Kra Daadi District Unit, was inaugurated on Saturday here at New Palin, in the presence of Mukul Pathak, General Secretary, APLS and Wanggo Socia, General Secretary, APLS Tirap Unit.
The event convened by Eken Bam, Circle Officer, Gangte, was attended by eminent Nyishi writer Stephen Taku among others.
The event was marked by the constitution of the APLS Kra Daadi Executive Committee with Eken Bam being appointed as the President and Byabang Amar Dui as the General Secretary of the 12th APLS District Unit.
A Literary Session was showcased to display the published poems and literary works of budding writers of the district like Charu Moni Charu Asin and  Rangne Sorang.
Mukhul Pathak, while congratulating the newly constituted APLS District unit, recounted the ordeals faced by the APLS in its foundational years and the huge strides the society has made since then with the State Government according distinct recognition for its works in the sphere of literature in the state. He re-emphasised the importance of literature as being the face of a society and how the APLS has been working tremendously to spread awareness and provide platforms for budding writers to connect and develop.
Wanggo Socia exhorted the executive team to work selflessly for the amelioration of the layman and re-affirmed how the power of literature can shape  perspectives and stories around us.
The new President, Eken Bam, on his part, assured that the newly constituted District unit shall go beyond formal recognition to work assiduously and sincerely for the upliftment of the literary and education scenario in the district. He asserted that the poor performance of the district in the recently released Board results was not lost on him and the executive team and the team shall work for the improvement of the same.
A membership drive was also conducted by the newly constituted executive team for greater awareness and publicity.
