PASIGHAT, Mar 4: The Arunachal Pradesh College Teachers' Association (APCTA), JNC, Pasighat unit is organizing its second edition of Annual Sports Meet at Pasighat Indoor Badminton on March 4 and 5.
The Opening Ceremony of the meet was graced by the Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, and JDHS (BPGH), Pasighat, Dr. Talung Tali as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
Encouraging the participants, MLA Ering appreciated APCTA for promoting brotherhood and bonhomie through the sports meet. He also exhorted on keeping oneself healthy. APCTA members were experts at motivating their team to go beyond all previous limits and such meet would definitely inspire many to live physically fit and disease free, he opined and expressed hope that the participating professors would lead by being role models for the state.
Guest of Honour Dr. Talung Tali emphasized on the importance of being healthy. He said that the concept of obesity had changed overtimes and burning out calories through sports and games was one of the best ways in today's fast world. He finally quoted to exercise, to stay fit and to stay healthy to fight diabetes, hypertension and other diseases.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of JNC Pasighat Dr. Tasi Taloh exhorted that exposing oneself to games and sports in midst of academic pressure was a welcome step which will also be an attempt to unify the Teachers' Association.
President of APCTA Narmi Darang informed that more than 20 teams were participating in the second annual sports meet and he was hopeful of a successful completion with wholehearted participation from all the learned teachers.
Organizing Chairman and Secretary Hari Loyi and Habung Mipu respectively also spoke on the occasion.
