ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Lamenting the poor financial support by the state government to the Arunachal Pradesh Biodiversity Board (APBB), its members resolved to propose the government for providing sufficient financial support to the board.
This was decided in the 7th meeting of the APBB held today at State Forest Research Institute, Itanagar, under the Chairmanship of Tapen Siga. In the meeting the Annual Action Plan of the Board, constitution of Biodiversity Management Committees, Peoples Biodiversity Registers preparation etc were also approved.
The Board also approved to consider provisions of awarding best performing Biodiversity Management Committees annually.
Member Secretary, N. Tam, put forward the agenda and the meeting was attended by the Board Members comprising representatives from State Forest Department, Rajiv Gandhi University, Zoological Survey of India, Botanical Survey of India, NERIST and Scientists from State Forest Research Institute, Itanagar.
