ZIRO, Jul 29: A peaceful protest was organized by the Apatani Students' Union against the recruitment of PRT and TGT post for Lower Subansiri District  against the  vide advertisement no.ED/LS/ISSE/interview-I/2020-21/584 dated on 30th June 2021 under Samagra Siksha district society/ISSE.
Hundreds of ASU members holding placards and banners staged dharna infront of the DC Office at Ziro. The union alleged that the selection of eligible candidates was done by block wise quota system within the district and also few non-APST candidates were found to be listed in the final selection list, whereas local candidates were denied  to participate in the recruitment process.
Further, ASU has submitted a representation to the concerned authority to reconsider the result and to delete the list of non APST candidates.
The District Administration, District Education Society of Lower Subansiri  have agreed to postpone the interview till further order and accepted to delete the selected Non APST candidate, as demanded by ASU. 
Union has made it clear that if the interview is rescheduled in the future by quota  wise system within the district for recruitment of such posts, it will not  hesitate to go for further democratic movement.
