ITANAGAR, July 5: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) today questioned the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) in its handling of the multi-crore corruption in the Namchik - Namphuk Coalfields.
The Association has demanded the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) to take into custody all those who have been named in the FIR No. 05/2022 dated 16/06/2022 under the IPC Act and PC Act, 1988 related to multi-crore corruption in Namchik-Namphuk Coal fields.
Questioning the approach of the Vigilance department and SIC in particular, ANYA informed that FIR was lodged with SIC in February 23,2021 by activist Kaku Potom as per the direction of Hon’ble Gauhati High Court in the public interest litigation case number PIL 13/2019. Why did it take more than a year to register the case?, ANYA asked.
“Are the agencies expecting us to hit the street ?,” said ANYA while terming such delay tactics as nothing but collusion of top bosses in corrupt practices.
ANYA demands immediate police custody of all those named in the SIC’s FIR for further interrogation to bring out the facts of the “Coal Scam”.
SIC had shown alacrity in several cases in the recent past and have arrested several tribal officers from Tani belt, why is SIC soft in this particular case where few big non-Arunachali businessmen are named ?, asked ANYA.
