ITANAGAR, Oct 28: A day after the central bureau of investigation (CBI)took over the investigation into the question paper leak of the assistant engineer exam conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has sought investigation into purported audio clips  and widening of scope of the investigation.
In a letter submitted to the Investigation Officer, of the APPSC case, CBI, the Nyishi youth body pointed out "few cardinal errors" in the investigation of the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) going so far as to state that the investigation has been "botched up".
Referring to the press conference, by Anant Mittal, Superintendent of Police - Special Investigation Cell (SIC) on Thursday, ANYA said that date of lodging complaint at Itanagar Police Station was referred to as August 29,2022 whereas the complainant, who is also the whistle-blower, Gyamar Padang lodged the complaint on August 28,2022. The association also questioned why the main accused Taket Jerang was in SIC custody for only two days.
"The main link to the arrest of Taket Jerang and subsequent other arrests made so far, is Akhilesh Yadav, a teacher at Jeju Coaching Institute. Why has he been let out on bail without proper investigation into public disclosure of two more audio tapes," it said.
On September 22, 2022 the aspirants including the complainant-cum­whistle-blower Gyamar Padang held a press conference (PC) at Arunachal Press Club (APC) wherein Techi Puru, an aspirant as well as the Issue Chairman of the APPSC Aspirants made startling claim of possessing two more audio clips. During the press conference, Techi Puru clearly mentioned that Akhilesh Yadav has named Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh as being involved in the paper leakage case. Also, he claimed that the mobile handset with those audio clips are with the SIC. But why hasn't the SIC called Pema Khandu for interrogation? It is so because SIC reports to the Chief Minister himself, ANYA said.
The association further said that Pema Khandu announced to hand over the case to CBI on September 26 at Ziro when he was on a tour and only after disclosure of two audio tapes went public.
"We have more than a reason to believe that the investigation so far is botched up," said ANYA President Byabang Joram.
The association also questioned why the then Chairman of APPSC Nabam Nipo has not been questioned adding that he (Nabam) has given enough reason to doubt his integrity in this scam.
"Therefore, we request you to name Chief Minister Pema Khandu, past Member Secretaries of APPSC whose kit and kin were appointed during their tenure/ incumbency and former Chairman APPSC Nabam Nipo as accused and call them for questioning in this scam," Joram said.
