ITANAGAR, Jun 27:  The Kra Daadi district unit of Anti Corruption Foundation (ACF-KD) has appealed the  SIC to investigate the corruption involved in the funds under 14th Finance Commission (FFC) in the district thoroughly and without any further delay.
Addressing the media at the press club, President ACF-KD district unit Tai Tahar said that the organization had been repeatedly pursuing the matter with the SIC earlier through a complaint letter but the matter was never registered. Likewise, the matter was also primarily rejected to be investigated by the SP-SIC and was denied green signal to examine the matter by the then Chief Secretary of the state.
Following the rejection from the state government and the SIC to register the case, the ACF later filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court, Naharlagun. Subsequently, the court has now ordered the SIC to investigate the case.
“Therefore, now we believe that the SIC will begin proper and fair investigation into the Rs 14 Crore corruption of FFC funds in the district. We want the team of SIC to visit the district and execute proper ground investigation to reveal the truth,” he said, adding that the ACF is always ready to guide the team in any possible way.
Tahar said that the ACF was informed through a verbal complaint by the public over the misuse of public funds. Following which through RTI it found out that the claims of the public were true. There is huge corruption in the fund which is provided to the public through FFC, he said.
