ITANAGAR, May 24: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) from Monday has started distributing essential items to the students and daily wage earners currently stranded in the ICR due to the lockdown here from its office.
Essential items like rice, dal, oil, potato, salt etc. are being distributed to the stranded students and daily wage earners. “We are targeting to cover more than 10000 stranded students and daily wage earners within the Capital Region who are affected due to the lockdown,” General Secretary, ANSU Gora Rikam Bhai informed, adding that the help is not intended only for the Nyishi students and daily wage earners, but will cover all tribal students and daily wage earners also. 
ICR DC Talo Potom visited the ANSU office to encourage the team and suggested identifying the actual needy people. The ANSU GS has urged the medical team to intensify testing, tracing and treatment, accelerate the vaccination process and has appealed to the capital denizens to cooperate with the District Administration and police during the ongoing lockdown.
He has also appealed to the PHED to restore water supply in the ICR as the dwellers are living without water for many days.
