ITANAGAR, Dec 2:  Arunachal Law Students Union (ALSU) has demanded the state government for immediate inquiry into the breach of APPSC strong room, the establishment of fast-track court on APPSC fiasco and cancellation of the advertisement for the 18 posts of Assistant Professor in the Jarbom Gamlin Law College, Jote published on 6th July 2018.
Addressing media persons at the press club today, ALSU Vice President (Protocol) Teli Naga said the union had earlier lodged an FIR with the SIC in connection to the breach of APPSC strong room. "The custodians of the strong room are the Chairman, Secretary and the Controller of Examination. Hence, a high-level inquiry should be initiated against the respective officials immediately to ascertain how the question paper was leaked from the strong room," he said.
Likewise the state government should immediately establish a fast-track court for speedy trial of any scandals related to Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). The court is of immediate need to restore the faith of the public in the Commission which has been from time to time  involved in corrupt practices, the ALSU said.
“The need of the hour is to give exemplary punishment to all corrupt officials involved in the cash-for-job scam in the APPSC. The recent officials of the Commission should be punished  and also the sanctity of the Commission is protected,” he said
Naga said that there were a series of anomalies in the examination for the post of Assistant Professor for the Jarbom Gamlin Law College conducted by the Commission. The APPSC violated its own advertisement notification regarding the upper age limit for the post.
The Under Secretary, Taket Jerang shrewdly pursued the state government to re-notify the upper age limit from 32 years relaxation to 35 years for APST candidates to 37 years with 5 years relaxation to the candidates belonging to APST.
“It is revealed from records that the upper age limit was re-notified just to accommodate their relatives and few individual candidates, and it was not done in the interest of the state,” he said, adding that, if it was done in the interest of the state, the Commission could have notified it in the first place or after completion of the recruitment process.
The notification issued by the Commission in regard to the upper age limit is unjustified and discriminatory in nature. Therefore, the state government should immediately order the SIC to investigate the matter and bring it to a positive conclusion, he added.
Informing that no action has been taken till date,  Naga further informed that the union had submitted a representation to Chief Minister Pema Khandu demanding the same.
