PASIGHAT, Feb 11: Over 20 women of Pasighat Cyclothon participated in a kickstarting event in a “freedom to walk cycle run and cycle to work campaign.” The event was organised by Pasighat Smart City Development Corporation (PSDCL) in collaboration with East Siang District Administration, Woman Against Social Evil (WASE) and Adi Bane Ane Kebang (ABAK).
The theme All-female bicycle rally aims
of the event is to bring long term behavioral change in the general public to embrace walking, cycling and running and making streets safer for pedestrians and cyclists alike while emphasizing the youth to adopt walking, cycling and running as a form of recreational activity and means to remain fit and healthy while staying away from abusive substances.
The event was led by Dr. Manjuli Komut, Chief Executive Officer (PSDCL) and Jaya Tasing Moyong, General Secretary, WASE Ane, in the presence of Taye Taggu, East Siang Deputy Commissioner, Aishwarya Sharma, Commandant 5th IRBN, East Saing, Pasighat Chief Municipal Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, Tani Taloh, Member Secretary, PMC, District Disaster Management Officer and others.
