ITANAGAR, Feb 8: Reiterating its demands, the Arunachal Jankalyan Sangathan (AJS) organized a protest rally against the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) from Akashdeep complex to IG Park, here on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media, Chairman AJS-Nabam Tama informed that despite lodging complaints and repeated pleas for investigation on alleged corrupt practices in the IMC, authorities are not paying heed to its demands. Due to the lackadaisical attitude of the authority, we have resorted to the democratic movement in the form of a protest rally today, he added.
AJS is demanding the immediate step down of IMC mayor and deputy mayor for inefficient governance and corrupt practices occurring in the IMC, termination of all the members of IMC who are involved in corruption, immediate registration of cases against IMC officials and the alleged multi-crore scam and investigation into the development funds under 14th and 15 finance commission.
