ITANAGAR, Sep 6: Newly elected Treasurer of All India Football Federation (AIFF), Kipa Ajay was given a rousing reception today by the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) along with Kipa Welfare Society and hundreds of well-wishers at Gumto on his arrival back to Arunachal Pradesh.
In his address to the media, he thanked chief minister Pema Khandu, who is also the President of APFA,his fellow executive members of State Football Association, KWS among others, while assuring to work for the development of football.
Ajay also condemned recent claims and allegations levelled against Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju for meddling in the selection process.
“It was very unfortunate and utterly condemnable. Rijiju, who was also the former Union Sports Minister had worked tirelessly for the development of sports in the country during his stint as sports minister has been levelled with entirely false allegations by some people to defame his name.He has always encouraged every sports discipline to develop and reach new heights,” Ajay said.
In a reception jointly organized by KWS and APFA at Naharlagun, both organisations congratulated Ajay on this historic feat and wished him the best for his new responsibilities.
