 ITANAGAR, Sep 1: Arunachal Institute of Tribal Studies (AITS), Rajiv Gandhi University has inked MoU with University of South Florida (USF) , USA  recently under the scheme of  Indo-US, 21st Century Knowledge Initiative awards 2016.

The initiative will strengthen and build partnerships between US and Indian institutions of higher education, added a release from AITS. The sanctioned award will be utilized over a period of three years, with an aim of encouraging mutual understanding, educational reform, research and teaching as well as the development of junior faculty at US and Indian institutions of higher learning.

As a part of the project, a team of AITS faculties will visit USF in 2018 in order to interact with the USF faculties, students and administrators and also to develop a curriculum on ‘Cultural Resource Management’. This will be followed by a field research on public health which is to be carried out by the AIT S and USF faculties in collaboration with RIWATCH.

Further, a proposal entitled ‘An Indigenous Studies Field School for Global Exchange in Northeast India: Fostering Educational and Public Health Initiative’ was also submitted  by the Arunachal Institute of Tribal Studies (AITS), Rajiv Gandhi University.
