ITANAGAR, Feb 13: All India Radio, Itanagar celebrated World Radio Day at its office complex in Itanagar today. Participating in the event, Deputy Director and Head of Office AIR Itanagar, N. Ramanjanappa stressed on the importance of Radio, especially in Arunachal Pradesh. He appealed to all the AIR staffers to give more emphasis on the contents and quality of the programmes, so that it can benefit listeners.
All India Radio with its five stations across the state has got larger responsibility to entertain, educate and make listeners more responsible, he said.
World Radio Day was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 as an International Day to be observed on February 13 every year. The theme for this year’s World Radio Day is "Radio and Peace".
