Kaying, Aug 11: Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister Gabriel D. Wangsu conducted an extensive field visit to government agricultural facilities in Jomlo and Kaying of Siang District today, addressing critical concerns raised by departmental officers regarding land encroachment and infrastructure challenges.
Wangsu who holds portfolios for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Fisheries, Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs and Food & Civil Supply, inspected multiple government facilities including the Pig Breeding Farm, Horticulture Nursery and Agriculture Garden at Jomlo, followed by an assessment of departmental infrastructure at Kaying.
During the visit, officers presented pressing concerns to the Minister, particularly highlighting ongoing land encroachment issues affecting government properties, inadequate infrastructure and staff shortages that are hampering departmental operations.
Minister Wangsu acknowledged the challenges faced by the departments and assured officers of comprehensive support from the state government. "Whatever works or policies should be adopted by the department must be ensured that it benefits the general public," the Minister emphasised during his interaction with field staff.
He further advised officers and staff to maintain their presence at posting locations to better understand ground-level problems and develop suitable solutions in the interest of public service.
MLA-cum-Advisor Talem Taboh, who accompanied the Minister during the visit, issued a stern warning against land encroachment activities. "Since the Government Farms were established on land donated by nearby villagers long back, nobody should attempt to encroach the Government Land, which would send a wrong message," Taboh stated.
Later in the day, Minister Wangsu conducted a comprehensive assessment of government infrastructure at Kaying, Siang District including quarters, office buildings and departmental land holdings of Agriculture and allied departments. The Minister stressed the importance of maintaining proper work culture across all departments.
The field visit was conducted with full participation from officers of the Department of Agriculture and Allied sectors, who accompanied the Minister throughout the inspection tour.
