ITANAGAR, Oct 31: Following the central bureau of investigation (CBI) taking up the inquiry into the recent AE examination paper leak conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), the aggrieved candidates of APPSCCE-2017, urged the state government to revisit and initiate an investigation into the 2017 exam fiasco.
Tadak Nalo, an aggrieved candidate said that there should also be a CBI inquiry into the APPSCCE-2017, which was another controversial examination conducted by the Commission. Moreover, there should be an inquiry against the then Members, Chairman and officials of the APPSC, as well as Investigation Officers (Police), he added.
"We all have witnessed the fiasco of 2017; how the Commission made mistakes but hundreds of candidates had to bear the consequences. In the first instance, the Court issued a judgment in  favour of the candidates, but later on due to unprecedented documents and reports of the Commission, we lost the case," Nalo said.
The aggrieved candidates also said that one of the alleged accused of the recent fiasco, one Minoty Borang is also from 2017 batch.
"Now our fight against the Commission has been proven right and genuine. We know that there are more people like Minoty Borang in the 2017 incident also, so we urge the authority to reopen the case of 2017 APPSCCE," Nalo said.
While appreciating the Capital Police, SIC  for arresting at least five people in the initial stage of the case, the aggrieved candidates also expressed their resentment and questioned why no officials higher than the rank of Taket Jerang has been arrested or investigated yet.
"We are very much convinced that there are more high-level people involved in the paper leakage issue, and so there should be a proper inquiry on the whole episode from top to bottom," Nalo said.
Further, the aspirants also claimed that the whistleblower of AE Examination had lodged FIR on 28 August, but the Police avoided registering the case for at least two weeks.
Nalo also questioned the investigation for not taking any action against Jeju institute, as one of the accused was a faculty of the institute. The institute itself is in doubt now, as we know that there are many candidates from the said institute who cleared various APPSC examinations, he claimed.

AAPSU-ANSU calls off proposed 12-hour bandh on 2nd November 

ITANAGAR, Oct 31: All Arunachal Pradesh Student's Union (AAPSU) & All Nyishi Student's Union (ANSU) called off the 12-hour bandh after the state government assured to fulfill its charter of demands following a joint meeting with the Chief Minister. The meeting was chaired by CM Pema Khandu and Home Minister Bamang Felix.
Speaking on the occasion, President ANSU, Nabam Dodum said "The state government has already fulfilled 95% of our demands and also assured to fulfill other remaining demands maintaining transparency."  He also added that the government has assured  that  CBI shall be requested to investigate the other examinations conducted by APPSC from the year 2014, to ensure that foul play, if any, are met with exemplary punishments. Decision on the age relaxation of the aspirants will also be taken in the next Cabinet meeting, he said.
 Further, General Secretary AAPSU, Ritum Tali has appealed to the aspirants, students and public to have faith on the AAPSU. "We will ensure that  no such act would be repeated again in future which compromises with the future of students," he said.
