ITANAGAR, Jul 17: Commemorating its 11th foundation day, the Arunachal Electronic and Digital Media Association (AEDMA) organized a voluntary blood donation camp with the theme "Give blood-give life"  here at Rama Krishna Mission Hospital on Monday. More than 50 people registered for blood donation and approximately 20 units of blood were collected during the one-day event.
President  AEDMA  JT Tagam, stated that the blood donation camp was an effort to give back to society. While more than 50 people participated, some individuals were unable to donate due to various health reasons.
The blood donation camp served as a prelude to the upcoming AEDMA foundation day, scheduled for July 29 next. Alongside the blood donation camp, the association successfully organized sports events to promote healthy living among journalists in the state.
As part of the foundation day celebrations, AEDMA will also hold a media conclave with the theme "Digital media as a catalyst for social change." The conclave is open to all journalists, regardless of their affiliation with digital, electronic or print media. Tagam encouraged journalists across the state to participate in the conclave.
General Secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ), Sonam Jelly, appreciated AEDMA's initiative, stating that such camps for social causes strengthen the bond between the public and media. He emphasized that donating blood not only brings joy but also makes a significant difference in someone's life. Furthermore, he highlighted that donating blood indicates good health and fitness.
Reigning Miss Arunachal, Nadek Nabam, who donated blood for the first time, expressed the benefits of blood donation for both the receiver and the donor. She urged the public to actively participate in such noble events to help those in need. Nabam also noted that donating blood can aid in curing diseases, promote efficient blood circulation, and reduce the risk of heart attacks.
The blood donation camp saw participation from AEDMA members, volunteers from Mrs. Arunachal, and Arunachal Roadies, among others.
