ITANAGAR, Aug 11: Handing over of food baskets to adopted 10 TB patients by Nikshay Mitra (Donor), Tamme Phassang, Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation on Friday in a small function organised by District Health Society (NTEP) Papumpare District at the Urban Primary Health Centre which is also a TU Itanagar. This is organised under Nikshay Mitra 2.0 of Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA).
The food baskets were handed over to adopted TB Patients by Deputy Commissioner of ICR, Talo Potom on behalf of the Mayor.
Dr. P. D. Thongchi, DTO Papumpare briefed the patients about Nikshay Mitra (Donor) and need of nutritious diet for TB patients and also spoke about the prevention of Tuberculosis in short. He also requested TB patients to take the medicines regularly and complete course to avoid development of Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) TB. Further he requested to support the Health workers in eliminating TB by 2025 as set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
