PASIGHAT, NOV 13: The Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) led by Chairman Pramod Jain and Member ARC Hento Karga. who are on a visit to East Siang district chaired a review meeting on administrative functioning with DC East Siang, Sonalika Jiwani, SP Pankaj Lamba , Administrative Officers and HoDs of East Siang here at DC’s conference today.
The ARC Chairman termed the issues and ground level challenges apprised as key feedbacks for understanding and formulating meaningful administrative reform proposals for strengthening administrative machinery at the district, subdivisional and circle levels.
The ARC Chairman also took stock of community and grassroots participation in decision making as development stakeholders , initiatives for facilitating prompt and ease of services to the general public and beneficiaries by Government departments, e -Governance initiatives, capacity building, infra gaps good governance initiatives etc. The Chairman exhorted that efforts in public service delivery should ease and improve the lives of the citizens/ general public particularly in remote and in rural areas, so that citizens avail the best of government services in a time-bound and efficient manner and also stressed on convergence and coordination of various line departments . He also lauded the progressive initiatives and proactive efforts of the East Siang District Administration.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Sonalika Jiwani, briefed on the administrative set up of East Siang including manpower, functioning of key administrative officers and issues and challenges. The DC also highlighted on various IT and e-Governance initiatives in facilitating e-services to citizens including the way forward and innovative initiatives in the pipeline.
