ITANAGAR, Mar 21: Deputy Commissioner, Siang, Rahul Singh, attributing Anganwadis and ASHAs as the foundation on which a strong healthcare and education sector rests, called upon them to become agents of development and help in improving the health and education scenario in the district.

He said this while addressing a meeting held for the collective working of Anganwadis and ASHAs at Kaying, which is the first in a series of meetings for the whole district, kickstarting at Kaying for the Kaying-Payum ICDS project.

While urging them to perform their duties sincerely, he also stated that cash awards will be constituted for the best performance while penalty would be meted out to dissuade non-performers.

CO, Pebika Lego briefing the house about the goals and objectives of the proposed meeting, also presented a detailed and informative discourse on the roles and responsibilities of ASHAs and Anganwadis whilst exhorting the problems faced while executing work on the field. Later, the house managed to garner probable solutions on the matter discussed. 

The event was attended by various nodal officers, officials, PRIs amongst others.
