PASIGHAT/NAMSAI, May 31:    The Adi-Mising Students’ Coordination Committee (AMSCC) has organized a massive Adi Mising  Baane Kebang Coordination meeting for better unification of Adis and Misings whose relationship has reached newer height in recent times after Adi Mising Baane Kebang and Adi Mising Students’ Coordination Committee played a better role.

After conducting a series of meetings at Omorpur/Sadiya at Assam, Bolung/Roing at L/Dibang Valley by the active participation of ABK, ACLS Roing, GBs, TMPK, MMK, a massive meeting cum awareness programme was organized at Nongkhon, Murong Okum/Ekum in under Lekang circle in Namsai district  today. During the meeting, AMBK Namsai Tinsukia Block and AMSCC Namsai Tinsukia Block were also formed with Ungkung Regon as In-Charge AMBK Namsai-Tinsukia and Tushar Ngatey  as in-charge AMSCC Namsai-Tinsukia block, informed AMBK and AMSCC sources this evening.

During the massive meeting, a resolution was also passed by the AMBK and AMSCC to approach the state government for granting of Schedule Tribe status to the Misings of Arunachal, informed Okom Yosung, Secretary General, AMBK.  “We will demand the state government to grant ST status to our Mising brethren of Arunachal Pradesh when other tribes are also enjoying the same. In this regard, we have formed a fact finding committee which will look and follow it”, said Yosung over telephone from Namsai this evening.
