ITANAGAR, Jun 10:  The Abo Tani Clan Organization (ATCO) will soon undertake ‘Abo Tani Yatra’ in all the Abo Tani Clan inhabited districts from June 13 next, informed its President Yamra Taya today.

In the sidelines of its Oath taking ceremony of its newly appointed executive members, Taya added that the yatra will create awareness on chronology of Abo Tani descendants, its tradition and culture. Moreover, it will also focus on its ongoing demand for a separate department for the Abo Tani clan, stated the President.

‘We have no grudge with the present state government or Chief Minister Pema Khandu but during the last episode of Bandh called by the ATCO, we have been painted as politically motivated, whereas we are fighting to protect and preserve our identity,’ he clarified.

Separate department will not only help the government to preserve and protect the Abo Tani identity but it will also create job opportunities for the people, he reasoned.

Taya also  informed that the first phase of Abo Tani Yatra will flag –off from Itanagar on June 13 and its first meeting will be held at Namsai thereafter it will proceed to Lower Dibang Valley, West Siang, Upper Siang, East Siang Upper Subansiri  before culminating in Papumpare.

Earlier, ATCO appointed renowned entrepreneur Likha Maj as its Chief Patron.

“I am very much thankful and honoured to be part of the organization  and I assure that I will extend all possible help in my capacity for the people of Abo Tani and ATCO,’  said   Maj.

Beside, Milli Chap has been appointed as Chief Auditor of the organization.
