ITANAGAR, Oct 27: The Adi Baane Kebang (ABK) refuted claims made by an insurgent group that it had shot down the Indian Army Helicopter in Upper Siang district on October 21 last.
Speaking to media, Spokesperson ABK Vijay Taram refuted the claim by the insurgent groups that it shot down the Indian Army Sortie helicopter at Singging near Tuting, Upper Siang District on 21st October. "We strongly condemn such misleading, bogus claims. We condemn it in the strongest terms possible," he said.
We want to make it absolutely clear that Adi people, who defeated even the powerful British army in their attempt to annex our territory, will not tolerate any such anti-national operations in Adi dominated districts. There should not be any misgivings. People of Arunachal Pradesh are the most patriotic people in India. The Adi community stands firm with our Indian Armed Forces, who are guarding our borders, he added.
ABK being the apex supreme council of the Adi people registers the displeasure of the Adi community over such callous, careless, insensitive, bogus claims made by the Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) for cheap publicity in the strongest possible terms. We make it absolutely clear that no anti national activities will be tolerated nor will be allowed in Adi territories.
We also extend our deepest condolences to the families of our brave soldiers, who have laid their lives in the line of duty, added Taram.
