ITANAGAR, Aug 13:The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has welcomed the state government initiative for the creation of department of Indigenous Faith & Cultural Affairs (DIFCA) and termed the decision‘insightful and need of the hour’.

‘At present majority of the people are beinginfluenced by western culture and there is urgent need to protect and preserve the culture, language and diversity of different tribal people,’ said AAPSU President Hawa Bagang adding that the new department will be a
great source to knowledge and understanding of indigenous culture especially for the younger generation.
