AALO, May 18: Residents of Aalo are facing acute water shortage for the last three days due to extensive damage caused to the 300 mm DI pipe that caters to the water needs of the township. 
The damage has been caused due to huge accumulation of silt and debris on the pipe from the adjacent road construction site triggered due to rains. The department of PWD and the contractor involved in the construction work are assisting the PHED to restore it at the earliest. JE PHED Tumba Ete who is supervising the restoration work disclosed that earth removing machines are being pressed into service to clear the debris and men and material have been engaged to repair the pipe which has broken into pieces.
The PHED has been undertaking such restoration works ever since the said road construction works began. DIPRO
