Aalo, Mar 30: After scrutiny of contesting of 1- Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency and Assembly constituency of West Siang District, a total of 8 candidates are in fray for Lok Sabha seat in 1-Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency which will go to polls on April 19, 2024.
Kiren Rijiju (BJP), Nabam Tuki (INC), Toko Sheetal (GSP), Bimpak Siga(Independent), Leki Norbu ( Independent), Ruhi Tagung (Independent), Tania June (Independent) and Techi Rana (Independent) will be contesting for the said MP seat.
Further, in West Siang, three Assembly seats will also go to polls on April 19, 2024 and there will be straight contest of two candidates in each Assembly Constituency. In 27-Liromoba ST Assembly Constituency, Nyamar Karbak (BJP) is up against Pesi Jilen (NPP). During scrutiny, Pei Jilen withdrew his nomination.
In 30-Aalo West ST Assembly Constituency, Topin Ete (BJP) will contest against Nyamo Ete (NPP) and in 31-Aalo East ST Assembly Constituency, Adv. Kento Jini(BJP) and Jarkar Gamlin (PPA) are in the fray.
As of now there is no any election related incident in West Siang District. Ms Mamu Hage IAS, DEO cum RO is monitoring all the election process for both the simultaneous election due on 19 April, a DIPRO report said.
