ITANAGAR, Aug 18: The capital district administration and the directorate of health services (DHS) is gearing up for the implementation of Integrated Health Screening Campaign (IHSC) in the different wards of the state capital Itanagar. Under the initiative, a total of 79 camps have been proposed for the capital and two blocks of Papumpare district during which various medical tests would be carried out free of cost.
The first camp would begin on August 21 next at the Community Hall Chimpu, Ward No.1.
Deputy Commissioner Capital Itanagar Talo Potom today held a meeting in this connection and appealed all to avail the various services offered by the free medical camp and make it successful.
Director APSACS, DHS Naharlagun, Dr Riken Rina informed that the primary objective of IHSC is to identify new HIV positive cases with co-morbidities among key populations (KPs) and provide comprehensive service package for care, support and treatment under NACP, NVHCP, NHM, Social Protection and Benefit Schemes, etc.  
Earlier during the integrated camp held at Namsai, a total of 91 camps were successfully conducted with a total of 4856 beneficiaries undergoing tests for various medical ailments.
Dr Rina sought cooperation of all the Corporators, ZPM, GPCs, GPM and others to make the camp successful. He urged them to disseminate information regarding the proposed free medical camps amongst the denizens, while adding that the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) is also making every effort to sensitise people about the camps including carrying out public announcement in every ward.
Corporator Gyamar Taz, while assuring all cooperation said that every effort including door to door campaign would be carried out to sensitise people regarding the IHSC.
