ITANAGAR, Apr 7: Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) has seized 436 vehicles, booked 301 people out of a total of 855 lockdown violation cases and levied fines totalling 4.32 lakh so far in the state during the ongoing lockdown period.
This was stated through an official communique issued by the Police Headquarter here on Tuesday. In addition, as many as 101 FIR were also registered in various police stations across the state for violating various sub-sections of CrPC 144.  In Itanagar, capital police recorded 94 violations, booked 58 people, seized 23 vehicles and levied fines amounting to Rs 19300 for violating the lockdown prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC. A total of 23 FIRs have also been registered, informed OC, PS Itanagar, Pashang Simi.
As a precautionary measure to keep a check on the spread of coronavirus, Capital District Administration has imposed section 144 of CrPC prohibiting any gathering of more than two people. The order shall remain effective daily from 3:30 pm to 8:00 am and remain in force till April 14. No movement of public transport was allowed on Tuesday except for those vehicles who were on essential supply duties.
Meanwhile, Additional District Magistrate Talo Potom made a whirlwind tour within the twin capitals to ensure strict imposition of the order. He visited the Hollongi checkgate, Nirjuli and Nahralgun area and was accompanied by SDPO, K. Sikom and IRBn personnel.
