Itanagar, Mar 21: Arunachal Pradesh Senior Men's Football Team advanced into the Semi finals of the 3rd Northeast Olympic Games 2024 after registering a comfortable 4-1 win against Tripura in their last Group Stage Match played today at NAPTC, Choumoukedima, Nagaland.
Team Arunachal took the lead at the brink of first half through Rahul Singpho's goal (40'+2'). Lead was doubled by Tame Agung from the penalty kick in the 44th minute which further extended by Tagru James in the 55th minute. One consolation goal came for Tripura in the 64th minute  scored by Darlong. The fourth and final goal for Arunachal was scored by Dorjee Tsewang in the 82nd minute.
Arunachal finished as runners up of Group A with 6 points behind host Nagaland who topped the group with 7 points.
Team Nagaland will meet Manipur in the first semi-final on Friday while Arunachal will face Mizoram in the second Semi-final on the same day.
