NIRJULI, Aug 29: In a significant tribute to the nation and its valiant freedom fighters, a towering 30-meter high  national flag was unveiled at the southern campus of the North East Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST). The inauguration was officiated by Prof. Narendranath S, the Director of NERIST.
Expressing his heartfelt appreciation for the warm reception and the substantial turnout that gathered to commemorate the national flag's presence at NERIST, Prof. Narendranath S conveyed his profound admiration for the recent achievement of India's experts and scientists in the triumphant Chandrayaan-3 mission.
He highlighted that India's accomplishments are extending beyond national boundaries, not just by hoisting the tricolor across the country but also by making its mark on global stages and even on the Moon. Prof. Narendranath S passionately advocated for the tricolor to take precedence, urging each student and staff member to initiate their day by saluting the flag and dedicating their endeavors to the nation's progress.
Furthermore, he extended his felicitations to the NERIST alumni who played a pivotal role in the success of Chandrayaan-3, motivating the current students to similarly contribute significantly to India's development and accomplishments.
Addressing the gathering, NERIST Registrar Dr. MK Camder expounded on the significance and necessity of installing a lofty mast bearing the national flag within the academic premises, aligning with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed personalities including Deans, Heads of Departments, Heads of Schools, NERIST officials, faculty members, staff, and students. Prior to the inauguration, the NCC and NSS wings of the institute showcased their talents in a captivating event.
