ITANAGAR, Jul 31: Arunachal Pradesh recorded 3 more Covid casualties on Saturday that took the count to 229. However, in a continuation of the trend noticeable for the last few days, recoveries have been greater than fresh cases on the day.
Casualties
At DCH Chimpu, a 13-yr old girl  succumbed to Covid today  due to ARDS with Covid pneumonia. ‘Shock’ has been mentioned as a comorbidity in the State Covid Bulletin and she was not vaccinated with any of the doses. A 70-yr old female Covid patient from Longding district died today at DCH Pasighat due to Covid pneumonia.  She was suffering from TB and was not vaccinated. Meanwhile, a 39-yr old male Covid patient from Papum Pare who was suffering from multiple comorbidities of diabetes, obesity and hypertension and had taken dose 1 of the vaccine expired today in an 108 ambulance taking him to DCH Chimpu for treatment. Covid pneumonia has been mentioned as the immediate cause of death.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
266 new cases (asymptomatic 159; symptomatic 107) were recorded on Saturday from across the state with a maximum from the ICC (74 ; positivity rate 9 %). Lower Subansiri (34), Papum Pare (27), West Siang (18; 8 % positivity) and LDV (15) followed next.
Of the total of 451 new recoveries that took the state’s overall tally to 43939, the first 5 districts were ICC (133), Tawang (33),  Papum Pare (31), Upper Subansiri  (29) and West Kameng (28). 5237 samples were collected from across the state on the day, highest from the ICC (818). After a further dip from the previous day’s figure, the total number of Covid active patients in the state on Saturday evening stood at 3954.
Vaccination
In the '18 years and above' age category, 1911 were inoculated (64 % coverage) with  1st jabs. In terms of dose 2, 1893 were vaccinated (17 % coverage).    
Occupancy status
As of July 31 (8 pm), at DCH Chimpu it was 53, at SQF Lekhi 21, Nil at DCHC Midpu, 7 at DCH Pasighat and 24 at DCHC.
