ITANAGAR, Apr 22:
In a tragic incident, three labourers were killed in a landslide this morning around 8 am at Hading Village, Palin under Kra-Dadi District.
The labourers were constructing a retaining wall in the area, when a chunk of earth come down the hill and fell on the labourers working below.
The deceased have been identified as Nur Hig((35),Saiful Islam(40) and Alias Ali(35 ) hailing from North Lakhimpur District , Assam respectively.
Locals pulled out the bodies and later handed them over to family members.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu while expressing shock and sorrow over the loss of lives, announced ex-gratia relief to the next of kin of the deceased as per the admissible norms and directed DC Kra-Daadi to do the needful. He conveyed his deepest condolences and extended solidarity with the bereaved family members.
While appealing the people to be cautious during the rainy season, Khandu said that Arunachal Pradesh is prone to natural catastrophe so every measure has to be taken to avert casualties and loss of livestock and properties.
