PASIGHAT, Oct 25: About 250 Quintals of Garlic seeds were distributed freely to 200 farmers of Siang belt to motivate and mobilize the farmers to grow Organic Garlic at College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat today. Farmers from Namsing, Kongkul, Seram, Borguli, Kiyit, Ngopok, Silluk, Mebo, Boleng, Runne, Balek, Napit villages and Pasighat were given free seeds and training in Organic Garlic irrigation. While garlic is grown extensively, marketing remains a challenge. 
The program was organized by College of Horticulture and Forestry (CHF), Pasighat in association with Siang Organic Farming Society. CHF is facilitating the push for more farmers to grow Garlic organically in the region. The program is running for the second year and the results are encouraging.
CHF Dean, Dr BN Hazarika, Prof Chandra Deo and Group Captain Mohonto Panging Pao (Rtd) addressed the farmers to motivate them to grow Organic Garlic scientifically.  DIPRO
