YINGKIONG, Sep 6: The dawn to dusk 24-hour bandh called by the All Simong Youth Committee Association on September 6 over a 'land dispute' between Simong and Memba-Khamba, demanding immediate eviction of illegal structure from the sacred place called  Eko-Dumbing went off peacefully.
Schools, business establishments and other institutions remained closed and  vehicles were off the road during the bandh. Blockades in the streets with burning tyres were seen in important locations of the district headquarters of Upper Siang.  
" I have already spoken to both the DC and SP  of Upper Siang directing them to look into  the issue, and following the discussion the Administration as well as Police has ensured to conduct joint visit to the location," said Minister Health cum local MLA-Yingkiong, Alo Libang.
As per the organization, if the authority  fails to fulfill the demand of All Simong Youth Committee Association, it may continue its 2nd phase of democratic movement soon.
On 5th September, the district magistrate in its executive order declared the said bandh call as illegal.
