ITANAGAR, May 25: Arunachal’s Covid casualty count reached 104 on Tuesday with 2 more deaths and with an addition of 429 fresh cases the number of Covid active patients reached 3323.
A 60-yr old male Covid patient from Karsingsa, Itanagar expired today at DCH Chimpu due to Covid pneumonia. He had multiple comorbidities and his vaccination status is unknown. A 55-yr old male Covid patient who was under home isolation and suffering from multiple comorbidities died on May 23 last at his residence at Duchok village in Upper Subansiri district due to cardio respiratory failure. His Covid vaccination status is also unknown.
Of the 429 cases added on Tuesday, Changlang which topped Monday’s chart recorded just 39 fresh (Monday it was 93) infections so as Tawang which added 49 ( 68 on Monday) and the ICR which saw a dip a day earlier (67 cases) contributed 103. Cases have also declined in Namsai (17 on Tuesday compared to 55 the previous day).
Overall recoveries also saw a fall with 230 recorded on the day compared to Monday’s 249. ICR, LDV, Lohit, Changlang and Tawang are the first five districts with 80, 26, 21, 20 and 14 respectively. With this the state’s discharge tally is now 21575. 6714 samples were also collected from across the state on Monday for Covid testing. As of May 25, 19969 individuals in the 18-44 age group have been vaccinated in the state with dose 1. In the 45+ category, 145223 have taken dose 1 and 35845 have taken the 2nd dose. On an overall basis, so far 254596 persons have been administered with the 1st dose and 82029 with the 2nd dose.

The occupancy status at the CCCs as of May 25 was- 58 at DCH Chimpu, 39 at SQF Lekhi, 3 at DCHC Midpu, 5 at DCH Pasighat and 34 at DCHC.
