ZIRO, Dec 6: Upper Subansiri thrashed Namsai 5-0 in their last match of Group B played this morning at Hija HSS Ground, Ziro to secure quarter finals berth of the XIX Tadar Tang State Level Football Tournament. Upper Subansiri was awarded a penalty in the 45+2 minute of the first half which was calmly converted by Raki Mosu. Second half was almost a one-sided affair and Upper Subansiri scored four more goals through Kalin Raji (50’), Tamin Sikom (80’ & 90+7’) and Tai Batak (89’)to send Namsai out of the tournament.
In another match played in the morning, Changlang was forced to end the match 1-1 by East Siang in the Group D encounter. It was Changlang which took the lead through Vivek Gurung’s goal in the 6th minute of the first half which was equalized by Nongku Tamut of East Siang in the76th minute. Despite creating several chances, Changlang could not capitalize on them and eventually had to settle for a point. With this result, Capital Complex FA qualified for the quarter finals with 3 points in their kitty with one game in hand.
Later in the deciding matches of Group A, host Lower Subansiri and Kra Daadi qualified for the quarter finals after comfortably winning their respective matches.
Host Lower Subansiri thrashed Siang 8-1 in the highest goal scoring match of the tournament. Tapi Hakhe scored a hatrick by scoring in the 57th, 70th and 85th minute of the second half. Taug Sera (20’), Puji Noha (42’), Hage Genda (47’) and Pura Byai (48’) were also in the scoresheet for the winners while Yachang Kani conceded an own goal for Siang in the 9th minute of the match. One consolation for Siang came through Hanu Tari in the 51st minute.
In another match of same group, Kra Daadi defeated Shi-Yomi 4-1. Charu Lalum of Kra Daadi opened the scoring for his team in the 14th minute which was backed by Heri Pandey in the 31st minute. Nikter Nido scored brace in the 37th and 82nd minute. A lone consolation goal for Shi-Yomi was scored by Tato Pulum in the 90+5 minute.
