ZIRO, Dec 4: Namsai shocked defending champion Kurung Kumey by defeating them 1-0 in the first match of Group B of the 19th Tadar Tang State Level Football Tournament played today at Padi Yubbey Football Stadium, Hapoli.Santul Munda’s first half goal scored in the 25th minute proved to be the decider of the match.
Second match on the same ground was played between West Siang and Tawang of Group C where both teams failed to score goals and match ended in a 0-0 draw.
In first match played at Hija HSS Ground, Capital Complex FA defeated Changlang 1-0 in their first match of Group D to remain the race for the Quarter Finals. All important goal for CCFA was scored by Koku Linggi in the 68th minute of the second half.
In the second match at Hija, Siang registered 2-1 win against Kra Daadi coming from behind in their second Group A match in the competition. Man in-form for Kra Daadi, Nikter Nido opened the scoring for his team in the 20th minute. In a must win match for Siang to keep its contention for the quarters they responded well in the 29th minute to equal the scoreline through Genral Modi. Siang made a positive start of the second half and scored the winning goal of the match in the 48th match. Goal was scored by Hanu Tari to keep Siang’s qualification hopes alive in the championship.
