ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The 12-hour bandh called by the All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) following the failure to address their 13-point demands by the state government in regards to the APPSC job scam within the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) ended peacefully, however normal life came to a standstill on Tuesday.   
More than a thousand people from all walks of life came to the streets supporting ANSU and the aggrieved aspirants, shouting slogans demanding immediate redressal of the 13-point demands.    
Speaking to the reporters, ANSU President Nabam Dodum said that there is no official correspondence from the state government till now. Therefore, the union has made up its mind to go with the next 36 hours bandh call, which will be decided after a central executive meeting of the union's members.
"The union will soon call a central executive meeting wherein the future steps will be discussed. During the meeting, the union may come up with 36 hours or 46 hours bandh call, but it will be decided only after the meeting and accordingly informed to the public," ke said.
While acknowledging various community-based student organizations, market welfare associations, and the public for their support, Dodum said that the bandh went off peacefully with no reports of public property damage. 

“However, the bandh call will continue unless the state government accepts the entire 13-point demands of the ANSU at a go. One should be very clear that the issue is not only of the union but the entire people of the state. Hence, the union will raise its voice until the matter is resolved,” he said.  
He said, moreover, the issue was endorsed to the union by the aggrieved aspirants under the banner of Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC). Which is the reason the union is spearheading the matter, he added.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police ICR,  Jimmy Chiram(IPS)  informed that there was only a single report where a motorcycle was burnt down during the bandh. More or less, the bandh call passed off peacefully, he said.
When asked about reports of Chief Minister Pema Khandu's convoy vehicle  being attacked during morning hours, Chiram said no such report has been reported to the department, adding 'if it’s true the department will verify the matter.'
“There is also no major public property loss, and no arrests as the bandh ended peacefully. We also ensured that no anti-social elements indulged during the bandh to destroy and obstruct peace among the protesters and public,” the SP said, adding that sufficient forces were deployed in various locations to tackle any such activities.
Chiram also informed that around 30 companies of security forces were deployed in the state capital, which is "very normal" to ensure that no anti-social group in the line of bandh call obstructs peace.
“Even when there is a bandh call in the future, the department will deploy sufficient force to ensure peace prevails. Nevertheless, I also strongly feel bandh call is not the way to protest. Therefore, I would appeal to the union to opt for various other peaceful methods of protest,” he said.
Chiram also said that the issue raised by the union concerns the future of the state and hoped that cognizance will be taken up to resolve the demands.
