Social media is abuzz over a video of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan blowing air into the wind after offering a ‘dua’ (prayer) which has gone viral with a claim that the actor spat on veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar’s mortal remains while attending her funeral on Sunday, 6 February.
Among those sharing the false and misleading claims included Bharatiya Janata Party’s Haryana IT cell incharge and Hindi news channel Sudarshan News. This is not the first time that misinformation regarding Islamic customs has peddled erroneously or purposefully to mislead.
Blowing into the wind after offering dua is a well-known and well-documented Islamic ritual. It is done to ensure that the prayer reaches the person it is intended for and to ward off evil.
 The image of SRK and his manager Pooja Dadlani offering their respects to the legendary singer according to their religions struck a chord with fellow countrymen who saw beauty in the moment. Truth be told, this is what India is about-- Unity in diversity. People who are using this moment to spew hatred on SRK and towards the Muslim community are attacking the spirit of India. 
Khan, a Bollywood superstar has millions of fans in the country and across the world; a highly influential individual, imagine if this is happening to him just because he is Muslim. Thankfully netizens are astute and understand the grand scheme behind such vile attacks.
