Nirjuli, Apr 8: In continuation of proactive efforts under the Cops and Community initiative to trace and recover stolen vehicles, the Nirjuli Police team comprising SI Mahanth Prasad, ASI D. Tsering, Ct Tana Budh Tara, and Ct Rohit Dada has successfully recovered another stolen scooty and apprehended the accused involved in the theft from Assam.
Acting on credible inputs, the team arrested Chandan Mondal (24), a resident of Chirang district, Assam, from his native village. He was arrested in connection with Nirjuli PS Case No. 25/25 U/S 303(2) BNS. The stolen scooty was recovered and duly seized after the completion of all legal formalities related to the investigation.
With this, the total number of stolen vehicles recovered under the Cops and Community initiative in the ICR region has reached eight.
The SP Naharlagun Mihin Gambo, urged citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious activities or unverified vehicles to the nearest police station.
