PASIGHAT, Sep 3: To mark the National Small Industry Day, the Indian Army from Sigar Military Station in collaboration with the District Industry Centre today organized a transformative workshop for the residents of Motum Village. The event aimed to empower the local population by educating them about various Government of India schemes designed to boost entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
Upendra Kumar, Extension Officer, District Industry Centre, delivered a detailed lecture covering essential schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME), Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), and the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme. His presentation highlighted how these initiatives can be harnessed by villagers to improve their businesses and livelihoods.
Sigar Military station office source informed that the Indian Army played a vital role in coordinating with local authorities and ensuring the smooth execution of the event, which saw enthusiastic participation from the villagers. Many locals expressed their gratitude, acknowledging the positive impact that the information and support will have on their lives.
