RONO HILLS, Sep 3: Rajiv Gandhi University is participating in the national celebration of Swachhata Pakhwada from September 1 to 15 next, in accordance with the guidelines from the Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, Government of India.
The university community came together to take the Swachhata Pledge on the first day, reaffirming their commitment to cleanliness and hygiene, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a free, clean, and developed India. On the second and third day, a 'Swachhata Walk' was organized, where students, research scholars, teaching, and non-teaching staff participated with enthusiasm, promoting awareness and teamwork towards a cleaner and greener campus.
According to Dr. A. Yuvaraj, Assistant Director of Physical Education, the 15-day program will continue with various events, including a selfie booth and signature campaign scheduled for tomorrow at the university premises. The committee has planned day-by-day events for the remaining 12 days, which will be announced accordingly.
